Paula Eve's School

Our Story

Paula Eve's School started as the brainchild of Aaron and Juliet Akwaboah, who grew up in a small village in the Eastern Region of Ghana that did not even have electricity or running water. Due to the overall poverty of the area, their educational opportunities were greatly limited.

After getting an opportunity to emigrate to Los Angeles, California in the early 1980s, they knew that while chasing the American Dream, they must find a way to help provide the quality education that they missed out on to as many young people in Ghana as possible.

Mrs. Akwaboah pursued a degree in Child Development while working full time as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Mr. Akwaboah worked 50 to 60 hours a week to establish the necessary capital that would be needed to fund their dream.

A Dream Realized

Finally in 1996, the Akwaboahs and their three children moved to Accra, Ghana to lay the foundation of what would become Paula Eve's School.

On January 6, 1997, the School opened with a handful of toddlers, one teacher and the Akwaboahs running all facets of the operation from cooking, cleaning, lesson planning, and financial duties.

Today, the School can boast of 450 students ranging from newborns to junior high school.
